Prior to joining Coller Capital in 2003, Hiro held senior posts as Head of Sumitomo Trust's private equity investment and Japanese corporate finance divisions in New York: He was also Vice President of the International Credit Department at Sumitomo Trust, Tokyo.

Hiro holds a Bachelors of Law degree from Osaka City University, Japan, and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.

Hiro serves on the advisory committees of Advantage Partners, Dyna Fund, Globis Fund, ICICI Venture Fund, JAFCO, Leverage India Fund, Tokio Marine Capital, Vintage I and First China Development Fund.
